Predictions for the 95th Academy Awards

Jimmy Kimmel returns to host the Academy Awards this year, the Academy choosing a tried and true host, this year’s ceremony being the 3rd that Kimmel has hosted. And of course, we couldn’t forget his first hosting gig with the Moonlight and La La Land Best Picture snafu.

Celebrating films released in 2022, we have a broad selection of films up for awards ranging from indie darlings to box office sensations. The acting awards will be particularly important this year with sixteen of the nominees being first-time Oscar nominees. And for the first time in 88 years, all Best Actor nominees are first-timers. It’s going to be a great show.

For each of the award categories, we provide a brief description of the nominees and our prediction. As in previous years, we also choose our own nominees and recognize films that have made an impression on ourselves during the past year in these designated categories.

We hope our guide will shine light on the nominated qualities recognized in these films or even assist in making your own predictions for the 94th Academy Awards, celebrated March 12th.
